Happy Thanksgiving!

 Thoughts on Grace

I don't know about you, but we always say grace before our Thanksgiving dinner. It's a family tradition, just like the turkey with all of its trimmings. When I was young, we would all bow our heads and recite together, "God is great, God is good. Let us thank Him for our food."
Dad sometimes had a different version because the food smelled so good and he could hardly wait until it was served... "God is good, God is great, let us eat before it's too late!"
Mom and the five of us kids would gasp and say, "Oh, Dad!"
When we were with our Catholic cousins, we'd say their grace from memory: "Bless us o Lord and these Thy gifts which we are about to receive from Thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen."
So what is the meaning of the word "grace"? Here is one way to define it...
                                                                       God's
                                                                       Riches
                                                                       At
                                                                       Christ's
                                                                       Expense
It's because of God's grace and mercy that we have the hope of eternal life. Perhaps this year our grace might be a prayer thanking Him for His grace! Ü
Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends and family. God has richly blessed us! Let us be thankful!
