Season Finale

Al and I were able to attend a chamber orchestra concert of DSO musicians while in Michigan visiting family this past week. There were several factors which made this a very special event. Al's daughter, Shanda, was playing first-chair viola that evening. We were only six rows away from her.
Second, the concert was held in a large church with the tall metal pipes of the pipe organ and a large metal cross suspended from the ceiling as backdrop for the orchestra. The interior of the church had several beautiful stained glass windows depicting scenes and  key verses from Jesus' life as well as Bible stories from the Old Testament. It was an inspiring setting as well as the inspirational music of Mozart and Beethoven among others.
Third, the acoustics were such that the different sections of instruments could be heard distinctly. The music was really amazing...the different harmonies between the first and second violins, the violas, cellos and string basses as well as the interplay between various intruments really stood out.
Harmony! Oh that the body of Christ might live in love and harmony. May the world know  that we are Christians by our love for one another. Please help us, oh Lord,  to live in harmony!
