Our Michigan family arrived late Saturday afternoon, July 27th. It had been three years since their last visit and in the meantime, a new member was added, little Elliot, born in 2011. They were only staying with us until Tuesday morning, so we crammed lots of activities into that short period of time...church Sunday morning, a family reunion that afternoon and on Monday a visit to Balch Park for a picnic and a walk through the Giant Sequoia grove. A highlight of that time was seeing the "Tunnel Tree," a downed Giant Sequoia.
Shanda, my step-daughter is shown here at the entrance to the tunnel. Nate (4) and Elliot (2) wanted to run through the tunnel over and over again, and I ran behind, cautioning them to look down and watch where they were going! Much fun...and what a joy to all be together.
