Valentine's Day Re-dedication

On November 19,1982, Al and I stood facing each other in front of a church packed with friends and family and read the following "Goals for our Marriage" which we had written together.
  • To keep in touch with the Lord through daily prayer.
  • To remain open with each other.
  • To strive for fidelity, sincerity, humor, patience, kindness and gentleness.
  • To make praise and gratefulness a natural response.
  • To put Jesus first, Others second and Yourself last...JOY
  • To wake up each morning with "I love you."
This evening, we stood in front of a different church, facing each other and holding hands. There were five other couples who were doing the same thing...renewing their vows. The church was empty except for three people: one friend who acted as witness and photographer, the pastor who led the re-dedication ceremony and an organist to accompany us as we marched down the aisle at the beginning and at the end of the service. It was a beautiful service, almost as memorable as the first one over three decades ago.

The Lord has blessed us with a wonderful marriage. May He give us the strength to be faithful to each other and also to Him "as long as we both shall live."

(I left the camera on the front seat of the car. But if our friend/witness/photographer's pictures turn out, I'll post them later.)
