From Orlando to Naples...Florida that is!
Day 4:
Well, you're probably waiting to hear about our time at Disney World in Orlando. This is what happened... When we checked into the hotel Thursday night we were told to go by the guest services desk and pick up our "free" guest package. "Free"...now that's the right word! So we did!
The smart, bubbly young lady at the guest services desk gave us a package of coupons and then asked where we were going and if we had already purchased tickets. When she found out that we were planning on spending part of the day at the Epcott center before driving to Naples, she told us that she could get us a great deal on our tickets. Before we knew what was happening, we were signed up for two tickets for fifty bucks each, vouchers for breakfast...and a two hour introductory program for a new time share which was partnering with the hotel! Now, this could have been serious--I mean, we might have ended up purchasing the time shares--but thankfully, Al mulled it over in the middle of the night and decided to cancel the whole package the next a.m., including the Epcott center.
We ended up having a leisurely buffet breakfast (not free) this morning (Friday) at the hotel and then traveled to Naples via Long Boat Key, a beautiful strip of land on the Gulf side of Florida, which parallels the coastline and which is developed with huge mansions. Can't imagine what it would be like in a hurricane though.
So now, we're resting before dinner time.
Stay tuned for more "action" tomorrow--the Manatee tour--unless they're selling time shares! Hah!
PS The pictures are ready to post, but I can't figure out how to move them from the folder on the laptop's hard drive to the blog. Will keep trying. Any suggestions?
