Teaching again...

Al and I both retired from teaching school several years ago and have loved the freedom to travel, garden and pursue various interests...such as writing! But lately, we're back at it--this time teaching in doggie obedience school! Actually, we're training our two new puppies how to heel and halt. We haven't gotten much beyond that. But, they are learning fast and are listening better.
After a couple of disastrous walks with little TJ (black lab) straining at his lead/leash, we decided to train them separately. It's working much better. I go one direction with Teddy, who is more mellow and very obedient already; and Al takes TJ in the opposite direction. Oh, and if Tigger the cat wants to come along, he has to come with Teddy and me. Otherwise, he's just too much of a distraction and temptation for TJ.
Now isn't that just the way we are? We do best when we focus all of our attention on the Lord and listen to Him alone.Good thing that He is patient with us. I'm sure that He is wanting us to learn how to "Halt," "Heel," "Sit." and "Stay" too!
Help us to learn quickly, Lord and to remember our lessons well. Thank you  for being such a patient and loving teacher through the working of the Holy Spirit.   In Jesus' name, Amen.
