Our Florida trip...continued

Day two:
We were still on California time and had a little jet lag too. It felt good to "sleep in" before checking out of the hotel and starting the 150 mile (or so) trip northward from Miami Beach to a town outside of Cape Canaveral. Most of the day was spent driving, but we stopped to eat lunch at a wonderful restaurant along the beach at Lake Worth.
It was deja vu for Al, who had spent many of his Easter breaks at Lake Worth in the "BJ" (before Judy) days with his former wife, daughter Shanda, and his inlaws. He remembered body surfing out in the waves and the balmy weather around Easter time. He wanted me to feel the fine sand and encouraged me to go swimming in the Atlantic; but I was too chicken to go swimming in the ocean. It was windy and the currents were strong. Another day maybe.
I had to do a double-take when looking at the people sunning themselves on the beach. Two-thirds of them were senior citizens. No muscle beach, that's for sure! :) We fit right in!
Stay tuned for day 3, a tour of the Kennedy Space Center. I promise we'll find the camera which is buried in the bottom of our carry-on bag and will take some pictures.
      God is good!
